Well it was that time again or was it? As we were on our marriage
retreat Chelsea kept looking around the room and then would ask "Do
you like his haircut? There was one person she even decided to
quickly doodle, how she does that I have not idea, as an idea for
what she would like. So i decided to take the hint and get my hair
cut. Not like it should be that much of a shock my hair changes as
often as the season do around here, well maybe not that fast as we
do live in Denver where it was 32 this morning and 82 when i came
home.
So knowing that Chelsea would not be home I decided i would
schedule a fast appointment for the time she was gone and truly
surprise her. Before I left for work I made sure Gene and Amanda
could watch one if not both kids while i went off to get all my
wonderful hair cut. And so after Joshua and I went rock climbing I
was walking up the driveway talking on the phone and hung up as
Chelsea greeted me. "Whose that?"
"Just a surprise for later no need to worry?"
"For me?"
"Yep, love you. so what do you want me to cook for dinner?"
And with that I side tracked her to the next topic.
10 minutes after she left I ran out the door with Joshua and we
were off to get my hair cut. I went to the same barber as Chelsea,
as it was 2 minutes down the road. Nothing can beat a free hair cut
especially when you can donate it to Lock of Love. 45 minutes later
I was home with about 12-13" off my hair, a bit too short for my
liking but hey it will grow back and those kids will sure love it.
Chelsea came home later than I expected but was gratefully
surprised! All I heard was "Oh my goodness" for 10 minutes straight
as she could not believe what happened. Then again neither could
Hannah who tole me to grow my hair back as she wanted "long hair
like Daddy not mommy!" I guess for now she will have to deal with
both of us having short hair, or at least until I decide to grow
mine back.
